Janak Chaminda Ranaweera
Janak Ranaweera is a PhD researcher in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Alberta, Canada. His research focuses on urban development, public housing, municipal governance, immigration, and the politics of space. He is a chartered urban planner and former Director (Planning and Research) at Sri Lanka’s Urban Development Authority (UDA), with over 25 years of experience in urban planning, real estate, and policy implementation. He holds MSc degrees in Town & Country Planning and Project Management from the University of Moratuwa, and a BSc (Hons) in Real Estate Management and Valuation from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Janak has also served as a visiting lecturer and contributed to national and international planning initiatives.
