Nasiha Jahirhussain
Nasiha Jahirhussain is a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Bridging Divides initiative at the University of Alberta, where her work aligns with the Place and Infrastructure research theme, focusing on immigration studies, migrant integration, labour market dynamics, and regional retention patterns using longitudinal datasets accessed through Statistics Canada Research Data Centres (RDCs). Her current work examines the spatial retention of immigrants with a particular focus on healthcare immigrant professionals in rural Alberta under provincial and federal immigration pathways. Her expertise lies in interdisciplinary data analytics, integrating longitudinal microdata analysis, spatial analysis, migration studies, and community well- being research to support evidence-based policy development. Prior to transitioning into migration and population research, Nasiha worked extensively in geospatial science, and environmental data analytics. Her interdisciplinary background supports her broader interest in applying advanced data analytics to migration, labour force sustainability, regional development, and community resilience in Canada.
