Yitong Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on addressing complex challenges in the built environment through data-driven and AI-enabled approaches that enhance understanding of how infrastructure systems, organizations, and communities interact under disruptions, climate change, and evolving societal demands. By integrating artificial intelligence, data analytics, and simulation, she develops frameworks and tools that support resilient infrastructure planning, efficient construction project delivery, and proactive climate adaptation and mitigation strategies. Collectively, her work informs infrastructure investment and policy decisions that strengthen the long-term resilience and sustainability of both the built environment and the communities it serves.

Beyond her research activities, Yitong is an active contributor to the scholarly community. She serves as a reviewer and session chair for numerous leading journals and conferences and has reviewed more than 70 manuscripts across over 10 reputable journals. She received the 2023 Outstanding Reviewer Award from the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.
