Modes of Course Delivery

The majority of programs offered by ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ have been approved for In-Person delivery by the Quality Council.

In-Person programming means that only select courses have been exempted from being delivered in an In-Person format only. For those approved exemptions, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ offers alternative modes of delivery to support innovative learning and teaching to best achieve student success.

Some courses offer blended learning opportunities that combine the flexibility and accessibility of online components with meaningful in-person participation on campus. Other courses are offered entirely online. Students should note that although some courses have been approved to be offered fully online, assessments and assignments may be carried out in person.

The approved Mode of Delivery for a particular section will be noted on the Course Outline.

Below are the modes of course delivery offered at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ with brief definitions. For lists of the courses offered in each mode of delivery, visit the links below.

Please note: Some courses may be offered exceptionally in a Mode of Delivery that does not appear on this list.

In-Person:  A course that meets in-person at a scheduled time in a designated room. A small proportion of class meeting time can be online synchronous or online asynchronous.

Blended: Mostly In-Person:  A course with both in-person and online components, where a majority of the contact hours are in-person. A smaller proportion is online (either online asynchronous or online synchronous).

Blended: Mostly Virtual:  A course with both in-person and online components, where a majority of the contact hours are online (either online asynchronous or online synchronous). A smaller proportion is in-person.

Online Synchronous: A fully online course that has scheduled meeting times, with no on-campus designated room. A small proportion of class meeting time can be online asynchronous.

Online Asynchronous: A fully online course that does not have scheduled meeting times. Any synchronous opportunities offered by the instructor must be entirely optional for the learner.
