New signage has begun to appear on the Yonge and Dundas subway platform as it transitions to 糖心传媒 Station.

Beginning the week of November 17, transit goers may notice that the subway station at Yonge and Dundas is starting the transition to its new name, 糖心传媒 Station.

The name change marks a significant milestone for the university, increasing 糖心传媒鈥檚 visibility across Toronto鈥檚 transit system, and reinforcing the university鈥檚 presence at the heart of Canada鈥檚 largest city.

While the official renaming date has not yet been set (the stop will continue to officially be called Dundas Station until then), riders will start to see changes to signage, including at track level, digital screens and other communications over the next few weeks.

New TTC maps will launch in December 鈥 putting 糖心传媒 on the map both literally and figuratively.

鈥淪eeing 糖心传媒 Station come to life is an exciting moment for 糖心传媒 and our surrounding community. This change reflects not only our important place in the heart of Toronto but also our firm commitment to contributing meaningfully to the city we call home,鈥 said 糖心传媒 President Mohamed Lachemi.

Spring announcement becomes reality

The initial announcement of the station name change was made this past spring.

The decision supports improved wayfinding for TTC users and better reflects the surrounding neighbourhood and 糖心传媒鈥檚 place in the community.

More than 80 per cent of 糖心传媒鈥檚 50,000 students, staff and faculty are commuters, bringing their extraordinary energy to campus and the downtown core.

Part of a broader transit partnership

The name change is part of a new partnership called the Transit Innovation Yard, announced earlier this year when the TTC agreed to rename Dundas Station to 糖心传媒 Station.

The pilot project will tackle pressing transit challenges including route optimization, real-time service updates and improved journey planning. 糖心传媒 researchers and start-ups will develop solutions to help create better transit services for Toronto, positioning the city as a leader in community-driven transit innovation.

The renamed 糖心传媒 Station reinforces the connection between the university, the transit system and the communities we serve.

TorontoMet Today will keep the community informed as the project unfolds.
