Black Student Success and Engagement is dedicated to empowering Black students through tailored services, events, and community connections.

Community Networks for Employees (OVPECI)

The Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion (OVPECI) supports a range of community networks that provide representation of diverse cultures, perspectives and experiences on campus.

Equity Service Centres

The Toronto Metropolitan Students' Union (TMSU) Equity Service Centres provide drop-in spaces for students, community-building events, and help create safer campus spaces through advocacy. Groups include BIPOC Students' Collective, Student Access Collective, The Queer Space, Trans Collective, SHIFT, Centre for Women and Trans People (CWTP) and more.

Culturally supportive services, programs and initiatives to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½.

International Student Support (ISS)

The Queer and Trans at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ website is a one-stop resource designed to empower and support 2SLGBTQ+ students at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½.

Academic Edge Program

A program for first-year students to help them connect with peers and build on their academic skills and experiences at the start of the fall/winter semesters.

Group & Peer Mentoring (Tri-Mentoring Program)

The Tri-Mentoring Program’s (TMP) offers group and peer mentoring, using your your individual experience to find a sense of belonging on campus. 

Individual & Group Peer Support (Health Promotion Programs)

Health Promotion offers programs that aim to support your mental, physical, social, and spiritual wellbeing, including individual and group peer support.

Student Life and Campus Engagement

Student Life and Campus Engagement helps to foster a sense of community on campus by engaging students in meaningful leadership experiences, assisting in their transition into university, and hosting extra-curricular activities and events.

Human Rights Services

The Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion’s (OVPECI) Human Rights Services promotes an equitable and inclusive environment for all members of the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ community, and highlights university policies including the Duty to Accommodate and Religious and Cultural Observances.

Spiritual Counselling

Spiritual counselling services are designed to provide spiritual care, guidance, and support for anyone facing personal or academic challenges.

Sports Clubs, Intramurals & Social Leagues

The Recreation & Active Wellbeing team at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ provides opportunities for you to stay active, make connections and find community through a variety of fitness programming and activities, including clubs, intramural sports, social leagues, and group fitness. 

There are several official student groups that are registered under TMSU. These groups range from cultural groups, hobbies, sports and more.

Human Rights Services

The Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion’s (OVPECI) Human Rights Services promotes an equitable and inclusive environment free from discrimination and harassment for all members of the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ community.

Legal Aid & Student Advocacy for Graduate Students (TMGSU)

TMGSU supports the graduate student journey by offering services such as health and dental coverage, funding for course unions, and hosting events to build a community on campus.

Legal Clinic & Academic Advocacy for Part Time Students (TMAPS)

TMAPS is the central students’ union that represents all 16,000 continuing education, distance education, and part-time degree students and students taking a Chang School course at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½.

Legal Aid & Academic Advocacy for Undergraduate Students (TMSU)

TMSU represents over 36,000 full-time undergraduate students at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½, providing you with a variety of health, advocacy, equity, financial supports, and more.

Office of Student Care

The Office of Student Care can help you access resources and holistic support following any challenges you may experience while you study. Student Care also works with the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ community to identify students in distress and address disruptive student behaviour.

Office of the Ombudsperson

The Office of the Ombudsperson at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ supports students with problems and conflicts with the university. Contact their office if you believe you have been treated unfairly, are not sure what your options are, or if you would like to discuss how a policy or procedure applies to your situation.

The Office of Social Innovation

The Office of Social Innovation (OSI) develops experiential learning, research, and funding opportunities that support the university’s commitment to equitable and just access to education. 

Ahnoowehpeekahmik, Staff and Faculty Wellbeing Lounge

The lounge provides a space for ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ employees to connect, socialize and eat, rejuvenate and rest on campus.

Black Student Lounge

A lounge open to Black students, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ staff and faculty, aiming to counter the harms of institutional racism by creating safer spaces for healing and community, overseen by Black Student Success and Engagement (BSSE) at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½. 

Digital Media Experience Lab

The DME is a place where students, staff and faculty come to create, collaborate and explore digital media tools through the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Libraries.

Early Learning Centre

A centre that provides care for children between the ages of 18 months to five years.

Private feeding spaces for students and employees to nurse their children on campus.

Low-Sensory Study Lounge

The Study Lounge offers low-sensory study hours with dim lighting, fidget items, snacks and Peer Academic Coaching. 

Oakham Cafe & The Met Campus Pub

The Oakham Cafe and Met Campus Pub are two on-campus spaces for students, faculty, and staff to connect and enjoy affordable food and drinks. These spaces are run by the The Palin Foundation & The ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Student Centre.

Outdoor Bookable Spaces

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ offers outdoor bookable spaces on campus for conferences, workshops, or other professional engagements. When these spaces aren't booked, they're open for anyone to enjoy, whether you want to relax, study, connect with others, or get your steps in.

Free Store: Volunteer

Volunteer to help collect, sort, weigh, and categorize donated items, as well as support the day-to-day running of the Free Store.

Sustainability Ambassador Program

Get involved with ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½'s Sustainability Office through the Sustainability Ambassador Program for students, staff, and faculty who are interested in promoting a culture of sustainability on campus.
